Warm Up:
Pray something like this:
“Jesus, You declare that a new Kingdom is at hand and You are the King. I often take the throne away from You and try to control my life. Today, I surrender my life to You. Lead me and guide me to be a catalyst for Your kingdom. I can be selfish and make everything about me. May Your will be done in my life. I want to prioritize what is important to You. Lord, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my life—as it is in heaven!”
Round 1:
Read these passages. Write down what stands out to you from each.
1 Corinthians 4:20—For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
Matthew 4:17—From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
John 6:35-40—Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
Round 2:
God’s kingdom coming to your life is about surrender:
Write down the specific areas of your life that you need to release to Jesus.
Round 3:
God’s will being done in your life is about priorities:
Write down the specific areas of your life where you want to prioritize God’s will above yours.
Burn Out:
level up by focusing
At the end of your time or at some point today, be with God in simple solitude. Make an extra effort to create a quiet space—absent of any outside noise and distraction. Look over what you wrote down in Round 2 and 3 and spend some time praying through each item. Ask God for His kingdom to come and His will to be done in each area.
