Day 9: Your Kingdom Come in My Family
Today we continue praying for God’s kingdom to come and will to be done.
“your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
My guess is that there are many areas of your family that you want to see God’s kingdom come and will be done. Of course, include those in your prayer time. This Soul Workout focuses on three specific aspects of family—belonging, trust and security.
Warm Up:
Write down the names and addresses of your immediate family members.
Include their spouses if they are married. If you are single, write down the names of your parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends—even neighbors and those who are family by blood or by choice…
Round 1: Belonging
Pray for each member of your immediate family by name—that they would know they belong to God and they belong in your family.
Isaiah 43:1-2—But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Round 2: Trust
Pray for each member of your immediate family by name—that they would trust god and build trust with each other.
Isaiah 26:3-4—You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
Round 3: SECURITY
Pray for each member of your family by name—that they would be secure in god and secure in your family.
Isaiah 58:11-12—The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
Burn Out:
level up by praying through song:
Declare a blessing over your family members through this scripture and song. His kingdom come, his will be done.
Numbers 6:24-26—The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Quote of the Week:

Bonus round:
The focus on family today has been set for weeks. But coincidentally, (or not) a message was shared at Second Place Church recently on starting or continuing a legacy of faith in our family. A huge shout out to Vicki Epperson for supplying the prayer topics of belonging, trust and security.
If you missed the message but would like to listen to it, here you go:
