Day 7: Our Security

Remember the focus right now: connecting God’s name to our need.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name…”

Today we wrap up our first leg of Level Up Prayer. You’ve covered some ground praising and praying through God’s names.

Warm Up:

Open your time by praying something like this:

“God, I live to celebrate and honor Your faithfulness to me—You show it in so many ways. Help me remember Your work in my life and Your words in my heart. You are my identity—I am Yours because of Jesus. You have enlisted me as Your ambassador, making You visible to the world through the beauty of Your transforming work in me. May my life be an invitation that has a gravitational pull, tugging at anyone who does not know You yet!”

Round 1:

Read these passages. Write down what stands out to you from each.

Round 2:

Write out this name of God:

  • Jehovah-nissi = Jehovah my banner

  • Jehovah-rohi = Jehovah my shepherd

Round 3:

Write down the spiritual battles you are in right now (or those of others). Write down the battle tactics that the enemy is using against you.

Declare to God that He is the banner that is over you. Ask Him for the wisdom and strength to fight for truth and claim the victory. See if any names of people come to mind that may raise this banner with you. Confess that the victory belongs to God. Lift up His name in the face of any attacks you are experiencing right now. Thank Him that He leads you beside quiet waters and prepares a table beore you in the presence of your enemies. The battle has been won!

Burn Out:

level up by making a banner

When Moses built an altar and called it “The Lord is my banner,” he created a place of remembrance, a celebration of victory, and an expression of gratitude. Make a declaration like Moses did and make a banner with this phrase:

“The Lord is my banner and I am the Lord’s.”

Make the banner so you can display it somewhere to remind you of whose you are. Maybe you write the phrase on an index card or a post-it note or a larger piece of paper. If God is Your banner, make a banner! Extra bonus points for creativity.

Quote of the Week:

“Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”
