Day 4: Our Peace

Remember the focus right now:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name…”

Hallowed means HOLY. Holy means set apart, uncommon. Today is about connecting God’s name to your need—for peace.

Warm Up:

Open your time by praying something like this:

“God, Your name is great and worthy of praise. Your peace is mine when the storms of life hit. You calm the storm or calm me in the storm. Thank you for this peace—it’s mine and I could never understand it. Thank You for being with me. Let Your presence instill confidence and determination in me. There is a lot in my life that I could never understand, help me walk in Your peace and presence today.”

Round 1:

Read these passages. Write down what stands out to you from each.

Round 2:

Write out these names of God:

  • Jehovah-shalom = Jehovah is peace

  • Jehovah-shammah = Jehovah is there

Round 3:

Where do you need the peace of God in your life? Name the storm. Write it down. Talk to God about it. Acknowledge that He has the power to calm the storm or calm you in the storm. Thank God that His Spirit is present and guiding you through it.

Burn Out:

Spend some extra time with God today. You can add it to your usual time you spend with Him—or you can plan extra moments with Him at another time today. Whether you add five minutes of fifty minutes, dedicate the time and ask God for His peace to be made real to you. Have your journal handy and write down prominent thoughts that come to mind during your time.

Quote of the Week:

“Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”
