Day 12: Praying for God's Blessing

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Today we being a new focus in the prayer Jesus taught His disciples:

“Give us today our daily bread.”

Warm Up:

Pray something like this:

“Lord, Joshua did not need to ask You for the Promised Land—it had already been given to the people of God. All he needed to do was walk into it. Thank you that your blessings have already been credited to my account. All I need to do is walk in them. You have given me everything I need for my life now and for eternity. Every blessing is mine in Christ and because of Christ. Bring the gift of the Holy Spirit powerfully into my life—to empower me to praise You and obey You with my entire heart.”

Round 1:

write down 3 ways god met your needs in the past.

Celebrate this with God for a moment. Thank Him for His blessings.

  • James 1:16-18Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Round 2:

write down your most pressing current need.

Bring this need before God and ask Him to meet it in a way that brings glory to Him. It may be physical, emotional, mental, relational or spiritual. Of course, if you have more than one pressing need, bring it to Him!

  • 3 John 1:2Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

Round 3:

Consider your greatest blessing: Jesus + the holy spirit.

  • Ephesians 1:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Thank God for providing every spiritual blessing to you in Christ:

  1. His blessings have already been provided to you.

  2. His blessings include every spiritual blessing.

  3. His blessings are not earthly or temporary—they are heavenly and eternal.

  4. His blessings are in Christ. Because of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross for us, we can now receive the blessings of God through faith in Christ.

Burn Out:

level up by blessing another:

Consider who you can care for today.

Find a way to pay God’s blessings forward and bless someone, somehow, someway.
