Day 14: Praying for God's Provision

Today we continue our focus on this part of the Lord’s prayer:

“Give us today our daily bread.”

Warm Up:

Pray something like this:

“Father, Your provision fuels my soul every day. Each morning I wake up forgiven. I walk through my days without guilt or shame. A new sunrise reminds me of the new life You have provided me. I am forgiven. I am free. I am new! That’s the daily bread I can’t live without.”

Round 1:

Thank god for providing his love unexpectedly.

Your greatest need has been met by God. Not only that, He met that need unexpectedly. Use this passage to guide your prayer:

  • Romans 5:6-8You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Round 2:

thank god for providing freedom from guilt and shame.

The voice of guilt says you made a mistake that is unforgivable. The voice of shame says that you are a mistake that is unworthy of love. God says otherwise. Use this passage to guide your prayer:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:20-21We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Round 3:

thank god for providing a new you.

Use this scripture to guide your prayer.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:11But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Burn Out:

level up by contemplating god’s provision

write down the following phrases.

  1. While I was still a sinner, Jesus died for me.

  2. I am forgiven. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

  3. Because of Jesus, I have been made new.
