Establish the time and place where you will pray.

Also be sure to have a journal (an old spiral notebook will work) and something to write with each time you tackle a Soul Workout—a basic spiral notebook will work. Personalize it, make it your own.

Track your progress!

Warm Up:

Open your time by praying something like this:

“Lord, here we go. I want to take my prayer life to the next level. Help me remember that I can’t accomplish anything of lasting value apart from You. Give me the focus, tenacity and commitment to spend quality time with you each day. Work in and through me!"

Round 1:

Write out Matthew 6:9-13. This gets it into your heart and head.

“This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Round 2:

Imagine as many words as you can that describe who God is to you. Write down at least 12 words. You’re going to use this list in the burn out.

Round 3:

Worship to this song:

Burn Out:

Every Hour On The Hour (EHOH):

Set a recurring timer every hour on the hour today.

When the timer goes off, take a moment to praise God for who He is.

Choose from one of the words you wrote down in Round 2 and praise God for that. Switch up the word every hour and get after it!

Quote of the Week:

“Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.”
