Warm-Up:

Read Matthew 4:8-9:

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” —Matthew 4:8-9

Round 1:

Write out this definition of Sacrifice:

Sacrifice: giving up something you love for something you love more.

Round 2:

Read Genesis 3 and underline/highlight what stands out to you.

Round 3:

Pray:

“Lord, Genesis 3:21 shows me that a sacrifice had to be made so that Adam and Eve could be clothed and come out of hiding for good. Something innocent died to cover the guilty. I want to come out of hiding for good too. May I trust wholeheartedly in the atonement of Jesus for my life. I admit my sin is ugly and not simply or quickly or easily covered. Forgiving my sin was costly for You. It was painful. My sin has produced suffering and death in my life, so the cost of covering my sin involved suffering and death. It required Your sacrifice. Today, I humbly say thank you. Thank you for helping me come out of hiding for good!”

Burn Out:

Before we began this Lent journey, you could have never known what types of sacrifices you would end up making. What started out as giving up caffeine or Netflix has turned into something quite different.

Make a list of unexpected sacrifices you have made over the past couple of weeks.

End your time today asking God to give you strength and wisdom for the day.

All this week:

If you or someone you know needs assistance, needs to talk, or needs to pray with someone please text the Second Place Church team at 708-866-0092. We are in this together!
