Day 16: Family
Write down the time and place where you are completing this Soul Workout.
Warm-Up:
Pray:
“Lord, today marks a new day for my prayer time with You. I am choosing to set aside my desires and stand in the gap for someone else. I am praying for their breakthrough. Teach me how to intercede for them. I know this is good and pleasing in Your sight. I pray for salvation and complete knowledge of who You are— because this is what you desire for me and all people!”
Round 1:
Read Hebrews 7:25 and 1 Timothy 2:1-4. Underline what stands out to you in each passage.
Round 2:
Write out this definition of intercession:
Standing in the gap between the mess of humanity and the grace and intervention of God.
Round 3:
In your journal, write out the name of each one of your family members. Include your immediate family and extended family. Don’t forget anyone!
Burn Out:
Take as much time as you need to pray for each person on your list. Think about where they are in life and what breakthrough they need. Do they need to experience the saving grace of God? Pray for it. Do they need to be healed physically, emotionally or relationally? Pray for it. Do they need strength, peace, wisdom, or clarity? Pray for it. Stand in the gap for your family today.
Sometime this week:
If you are able, fast this week. Choose a day and fast a meal, two meals or the whole day. During the time you would normally eat, take some extra time to focus on God through prayer or reading. If you are not sure if fasting is okay for you, consult your doctor.
