Day 20: Battle Gear - Belt of Truth

Today we move our focus to this part of the Lord’s prayer:

“…but deliver us from the evil one.”

God is our defense and is the source of everything we need to be delivered from evil.

Warm Up:

Pray this:

“Lord, deliver me from evil. Make me strong in You and in Your mighty power. Help me take my stand against the devil’s schemes. Jesus, You are the way, the truth and the life. Tighten the belt of truth around the core of who I am in You. May Your truth be the foundation of my confidence, hope and trust.”

Round 1:

Stand up and Read Ephesians 6:10-17 out loud. Then write down one thing that stands out to you:

Ephesians 6:10-17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Round 2:

John 8:44—He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Write down any lies you have come to believe about yourself.

Round 3:

John 14:6—Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Write down the truth that nullifies the lie. (The truth is often the opposite of the lie.)

Burn Out:

level up by declaring truth:

  1. Renounce the lies from Round 2 and expose them as lies before God.

  2. Announce the truths from Round 3 and declare them as true before God.

  3. Pronounce a blessing over your life in these specific areas:

    • The truth provides life to your body and repurposes it as a living sacrifice to Him.

    • The truth enlightens your mind and exposes lies before they can do any damage to you.

    • The truth fuels your productivity, making you exponentially fruitful.

    • The truth makes you wise and easily able to repel any attack of the enemy.
