Warm-Up:

Pray:

“If you really believe in God, then why are you so stressed?” “If your faith was strong, why are you so worried?” “If you really loved God, why don’t you pray more?” God, words like this sometimes go through my head. I know this is not Your voice. It’s the voice of condemnation tempting me put my faith in my effort rather than You. Jesus, I look to you as my example and how to walk through the wilderness. I’m in my own wilderness right now. Help me reach out to You and to others for strength!

Round 1:

Read Matthew 4:5-6:

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” —Matthew 4:5-6

Round 2:

In your journal, make a list of people you could reach out to if you need help—emotional help, spiritual help, physical help, relational help, financial help…

Round 3:

In your journal, make a list of people who you could help.

Burn Out:

Pray for everyone on both of your lists you wrote out. Thank God for those who you can rely on for help. Reach out for help if you need to. Choose one or all of the people on your second list, reach out to them and ask if they need anything!

All this week:

If you or someone you know needs assistance, needs to talk, or needs to pray with someone please text the Second Place Church team at 708-866-0092. We are in this together!
