This week, I’m bringing the “rounds” back to the Soul Workouts each day. Let me know what you think!

Warm-Up:

Write out this verse:

But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” —Matthew 4:4

Round 1:

[Review] Our 40 days of Lent have a three-fold purpose:

  1. To consistently think about your need for a Savior

  2. To daily turn away from the wrong things in your life (actions, thoughts, beliefs)

  3. To confidently trust that Jesus has conquered sin and death

Round 2:

This is week 2 of Lent–our focus is humility through simplicity:

Write out the definition of humility:

Humility: a modest or low view of my own importance and needs.

Round 3:

Living simply during Lent can help us live humbly. Author Richard Foster explains that the discipline of Simplicity comes with three internal convictions in your heart. Jesus embodied these convictions.

Write them down and circle the one you want to focus on:

  1. Everything I have is a gift from God.

  2. Everything I have is sustained by God.

  3. Everything I have can be shared with others when it is right and good.

Burn Out:

Pray this from Psalm 25:

“Help me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all day long. You are good and upright; therefore You instruct me in the way that I should go. You lead the humble in what is right, and teach the humble Your way. All of Your paths are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep Your covenant and Your testimonies.” —Psalm 25:4-5; 8-10
